Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA)

APRA is the prudential regulator of the Australian financial services industry. It oversees banks, credit unions, building societies, general insurance and reinsurance companies; life insurance, friendly societies, and most members of the superannuation industry. APRA currently supervises institutions holding approximately $3.4 trillion in assets for 21 million Australian depositors, policyholders and superannuation fund members.

Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC)

ASIC is Australia’s corporate, markets and financial services regulator. ASIC contribute to Australia’s economic reputation and wellbeing by ensuring that Australia’s financial markets are fair and transparent, supported by confident and informed investors and consumers. ASIC is an independent, Commonwealth Government body formed under, and which continues to administer, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act (ASIC Act).

Australian Taxation Office (ATO) 

The ATO is the government’s principal revenue collection agency and is part of the Treasurer’s portfolio. The role of the ATO is to manage and shape tax, excise and superannuation systems that fund services for Australians.

Financial Services Council (FSC)

The FSC represents Australia's retail and wholesale funds management businesses, superannuation funds, life insurers, financial advisory networks, trustee companies and public trustees. The Council has over 120 member companies who are responsible for investing more than $1.3 trillion on behalf of more than 11 million Australians.

The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia Limited (ASFA)

ASFA is a national, not-for-profit, non party political organisation which represents the interests of Australia's superannuation funds, their trustees and members. Membership has grown to such an extent that industry funds, corporate, public sector and retail funds; service providers and individual constituents now collectively represent 80% of superannuation accounts, and approximately 80% of Australia’s total superannuation assets.
