Custody sector hits $3 trillion milestone, growth picks up in second half of 2016: ACSA stats

Sydney, AUSTRALIA – The Australian custodial and administration sector grew by a robust
5.2% in the second half of 2016, compared to 1.4% in the first half, according to the latest industry statistics released by the Australian Custodial Services Association (ACSA).

The total assets under custody (AUC) for Australian investors crossed the AU$3 trillion mark for the first time, which represents two times the total Market Value of the S&P ASX 200 (at December 31st 2016).

ACSA publishes industry statistics twice a year to provide insights into financial market conditions, asset shifts and major mandate wins and losses.

JP Morgan emerged as the largest overall provider in the custody market for the second time in a row, followed by NAB, BNP Paribas, State Street and Citigroup.
